Greenwood County Coroner, Sonny Cox, recently spoke at a Crime Impact Class held at Leath Correctional Institution. The class is designed to give the inmates a greater understanding of the pain and suffering caused by crime. Coroner Cox addressed the ripple effect that a violent death has on families and communities. He discussed how hard it is for him to tell a family that their loved one will not be coming home again. The inmates were allowed to ask questions and left with a broader understanding of the realities of death.
