The Board of Trustees of John de la Howe School is getting closer to full strength with Gov. Nikki Haley’s appointment of Dr. Steven Lize to the school’s governing body. Dr. Lize, a research assistant professor in the College of Social Work at the University of South Carolina, becomes the governor’s fourth appointment to the John de la Howe Board this year. As he begins his five-year term with his initial board meeting in June, Dr. Lize joins Barbara Devinney and Tom Love of McCormick, Patricia Silva and Donna Wesby of Aiken, Felicia Preston of Columbia and Dan Shonka of Central on the board, which can consist of up to nine members.
