The public is invited to attend a recital featuring Lander University senior trumpet player Cody Beard at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at Greenwood’s First Presbyterian Church. Beard, a music major from Ninety Six, is the principal trumpet player for Lander University’s Wind Ensemble and lead trumpet for the Lander Jazz Ensemble. In the spring, he will begin performing as the substitute principal trumpet for the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
