A fire danger alert has been issued for the Greenwood area now through 6pm this evening. According to the statement, as colder and drier air spills into the area this afternoon, brisk and gusty winds will occur. In a few more exposed areas, these winds will combine with low relative humidity to cause increased danger of wildfires. Any outdoor burning this afternoon and early evening should be done with extreme caution and in compliance with any local regulations.
